I've been having a few issues trying to install Windows 8 - having finally received the DVDs (nicely played MS - I was pleasantly surprised to find 2 DVDs in the pack neatly labled 32 and 64 ;) ) - I managed to get the install started only to find that my Vertex 4 was not recognised by the installer

On my Windows 7 install I get the following:

As you can see - with a little squinting - 'My Computer' sees the Vertex 4 - it is correctly formatted NTFS, I can write files to it and it benches as expected with crystalmark - but if you look at the acronis screen - nothing - and it's the same with the Win 8 installer - it sees the other 3 drives no problem, but not the Vertex 4 - any ideas?

I am not familiar with the windows 8 install, i am guess you are trying to install from within windows 7 but to a different hard drive? Have you tried unplugging everything but the SSD? Its usually a good idea to during install to avoid all the boot files being dumped on a separate drive to the OS.

I've no idea what the issue was but I deleted the partition and repartitioned the drive and it magically appeared to all applications - very odd - still can't get windows 8 to install - now hangs a bit further along!
