Hi,
Overclocked Q6600 @ 3.6 2GB Ram @ 1000MHz (533) Samsung T1 Vista 32 Ultimate

Basically - once a month or every 6 weeks i will turn the PC on and immediately notice my mouse stutters as i move it. Opening task manager i notice the 4 quad cores are showing 25% to 33% useage across them all simultaneously - but when i filter the resources my system idle on the cpu is at about 97% i.e. there are no processes showing any useage against any programs etc. So, then i looked closer and noticed that the hardrive is whirling away as per the graphs - please look:

To make the problem go away requires a restart - then it is fine for another month or so. I have run the usual antispyware programs and Avast etc and nothing ...any ideas people? Plus this happened on my previous hard drive so i doubt if it is a drive issue.

Thanks for your help

Mark

That is a very good point mate - didn't think of that...stopped this service now so will see what happens...thanks very much though for your suggestion as it is a right pain :)
