Hard drive washers

Hi, I was thinking of putting some rubber washers on my HD screws, am I ok to have the washer under the head of the screw, or do I have to faff about & try to get the washer between the HD and the drive cage?

between the hdd and the pc chassis

how many drives do you have, if you have a few spare 5.25" bays you could do the suspension mod

The case is an akasa mirage (loveley) but I'll probably stick with screws as I don't fancy 3 drives boinging around on the way to LANs.

Map***s sell them,
i searched every diy store for them with no luck

Yeah, I got mine from there. They may a bit of difference to the seek-chatter. (My wife calls it a 'watery' noise :rolleyes:

)

Probably a thing to have on hand if you're doing a new build or want to take any opportunity to limit any amount of noise.

How about using fibre washers? I dont know if these would work however.
