Hard drive

I knocked over a USB hard drive now it's not showing up and it clicks at me. Can the music I have saved on it be recovered.

You might try attaching the drive internally to a SATA port and see if it shows up. That assumes it isn't one of the USB drives where the USB is built into the drive's controller rather than being a separate bridge board.

Professional data recovery is an expensive proposition. You've really got to need the data to justify the cost.

Try plugging it into the usb port on the motherboard not the ones on the back.

Is it a flash drive or a HD in a caddy?

Does it light up or spin?

its in a caddy but its making sclicking sound for a few sec's

Probably means you've moved the read/write heads so they are stuck. It's fixable but your meant to do it in a clean room to prevent dust.

There's are probably a workaround, I suppose a dehumidifier may do the trick
