After being out of work for about 4 weeks due to sickness and scumbags i was working for.. ive recently got back into it, Doing long hours of plumbing etc.

I came back with blisters on my hands and totally scruffy. I was exhausted, so i went for a quick couple of pints before hitting bed for a nice well earned sleep. :)Then i woke this morning and worked through til around 4.

Got another long day ahead of me tomorrow and maybe more on Saturday. And i enjoy it!

Does anyone else feel the same satisfaction of knowing youve worked really hard?

Ive got to say yes, i get the same with college work. Since im lazy i never really do much work, i just plod along with it getting it finished on time not rushing etc, but when i really try hard and do loads of work that im proud of it feels great!

Was out of work for a month, then got a new job, worked my but off for the first week and felt so good about myslef for having done some decent work.

College work is the easiest period of your life. You cannot compare it to employment in anyway, the two couldn't be further apart - its ridiculous.

I know how you feel Hedge. I started work last Monday and have been leaving the house at 6.40am and getting in at 7pm working 8-5.30/6. Hard work, often not being able to leave the office due to being so busy.

I know what you're talking about, there's a certain satisfaction out of working really hard, especially when it comes to break time. Even though I might only work 4 hours during an 8 hour shift, when I am working it usually consists of half an hour or an hour at a time constantly thinking. The pressure eventually tires me out but when going on that break there's a real satisfaction from working hammer and tongs, especially when things work out well and I get the impression I made a good job of it.

It's great when you get the feeling that your hard graft really makes a difference.

Maybe so but it is still the same feeling of been proud of yourself so its obviously not as "ridiculous" as you say.

I do know hard work, i work weekends and late nights part time. Last weekend i had to empty an entire 15ft container by myself, all boxes were heavy lifts, then put them in order and put it all back in, taking about 5-6 hours in total of constant hand grafting, i even damanged my back so i do know other types of hard work.

The money is a bit of an incentive for me too right now, since i was left in a bit of a rut when my apprenticeship etc ran its course. But things could be looking up now. Im gaining more experience and not afraid to get my hands dirty :)

Cant wait til i get the cash in my hands this week. Gonna be a nice feeling again :D

Edit : i would fit your bath if it was close mate :)

Don't spend it all at once...well ok you can...but only on me... :p

Everything gets mundane. work after 6 weeks get boring, doing nothing get boring after 6 weeks. Its all about moderation

I did two 7am - 11pm (14 hour shifts) consecutively when we were really behind at work. We had stock takes that evening.

Shattered and exhausted. But at the end it felt really good getting in to bed knowing i'd just done a shed load of work, think it was because I had the next day off tho :p

Work hard and get stressed at my place and I get paid the same as if I did nothing. Would feel satisfied is it was my own company, but as it's not and the managers are ungrateful I have to say doing nothing much and getting paid the same is better :D

Only reason I'm motivated, is that I get 20% of all profits I make, if I didn't - I wouldn't work hard!

I feel complete satisfaction sometimes, and often feel tired. But, it's always worth it.

And it's not one bit physical.
