I've been reading some US forums and they reckon hard setting RTV is the stuff to firm up loose rubber suspension bushings. But off the shelf Silicone stuff we have here isn't quite the same. Anyone know where hard (not rock hard but thick rubbery type) silicone would be available from?

I think you'd be better off looking into the 2 part silicone used for molds. I think you can get it in various levels of hardness.

Most sealants are around the same and are quite soft when set to allow for movement in joints. Dow Corning external neutral cure sealant is the hardest setting I have used. Really not sure of the application as I don't know much about cars, so can't say if it would be right for the application or not.

Polymer sealant is very hard setting, but costs about £8 for a 330ml tube...

Have you tried asking in motors?
