I'm currently commuting 7 mile along a mixture of tarmac, footpath and road on a Cube Analog 27.5".

Can anyone recommend some tyres that will get me going a bit quicker. Probably doesn’t help that there’s 15 clem sitting on the back wheel, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks chaps. I will have a look at tyre pressure.

One of the lads at work suggested clip in pedals would be more of a benefit in terms of getting about quicker.

Thanks for the replies.

Been looking at hybrids/cyclocross bikes now  there seems to be quite a few people using road bikes on the route, but never having used drop bars before I’m reluctant to dive in for a full on road bike.

I could see myself getting on with a cx bike though and think that would be a good fit for the path and road combo.

Cheers Perma. Am I right in thinking I can use my current tubes on those?

Current tyre is the Schwalbe Smart Sam. Which look to be either 2.1" or 2.25".

My legs must be adjusting, smashed a few PB's this morning on my way in. Now that wind has buggered off!

Can anyone recommend any pannier sets for a MTB commuter? I'm even wondering if a handle bar bag would be enough. Only really to put work gear in. Smart pants/shirt/polo.
