hardocp 2900xt xfire review

Hard OCP sold there soul to nvidia ages ago, just my 2p on this review. Dosn't make sense at all. Also my single 2900 seems to perform better than their 2900 X-Fire in Oblivion what's up with that, since that benchmark is moot the rest may as well be.

I concur

They are ATI haters, everyone else gets nice results with single cards and I remember reading their reviews and they say that it's rubbish even with later drivers and still unperforms below 320mb GTS's. Stopped reading their reviews after that.

No Chance, Ok to prove my point ive just done a test

1680x1050
8xAA
16x HQ AF

10 Minute fraps benchmark, and I went for a walk around the path near Skingrad including walking through forrested areas, bear in mind I also have the 200% vegetation mod on, It's as smooth as butter faster than my GTS ever was. Here are the results from a 10 minute bench from Fraps.

Walking round Chorrol (SP?) during the day (Bring sunlight)

Min Max Avg
36 78 52.461

Walking round the forest surrounding Skingrad (Sunset)

Min Max Avg
31 90 46.914

As you can imagine with these averages its just incredible to see it so smooth at such a high detail.

This was also done with 8 yes 8xAA rather than the 2xAA HardOCP used!

That's laughable. How can they say they've done a comprehensive test and not once questioned the performance they were seeing.

Like Tom says - looks like they're green team through and through!

That review is so wrong, i've got a freind who bought a 2900xt a couple of days after it came out and about 10 days ago got another one and going Xfire.

He gets much better results than that im sure and way more than my single 8800GTS so i wouldnt really take any notice of this review although when he had only 1 2900xt my card did beat his in most games & benchmarks but newer drivers have come out and that so im not sure on that.

Disregard this review aswell, the drivers brought MASSIVE Oblivion improvements past 7.5 onwards as you can see from my own bench. Another out dated review done with crappy un optimised drivers, I knew this would haunt ATi.

Well it was OBV to me something was wrong with drivers as it cant be that low, but your not going to get a miracle multi fold fix thats for sure.

I'd honestly go as far to say as disregard every review done prior to the FINAL 7.5's onwards, as I know what's gone on behind the scenes and there has been an improvement ten fold since the original alpha set's.

You love ATI thats fine but you were going to ditch it not so long ago, lol ;)

The drivers wont get 10 fold, so you are going to get them FPS x10 ?

The fact is the 1 year old 8800 series is a better card this time around, bravo Nvidia, now get finger out lazy ass and get back to good drivers like once before.

a web site run some benchmarks and all you can say is their biased

if you want to dispute what they have posted used the same system specs they do and benchmark the same way they do

i.e Oblivion testing For testing we have chosen to do a manual run-through riding horseback from outside the Imperial City to Chorrol to Bruma

doing anything else just makes you look like a fanboy

you might also want to look at the article again if you think the gts beat the 2900xt crossfire in Oblivion. You havent grasped that hardocp benchmark to find the best playable experience for graphics cards. And if you dont like this way just look at the apples for apples part

for me hardocp are the first place i go to for graphics card reviews as they are far more realistic as to what you are going to get from your graphics card than running 3dmark
