Hi lads.

Also, i'm installing 2 hardrives. one for XP, the other for Vista64.
Would it be ok to use the same connectors from the PSU to the 2 hardrives, or doe's it have to be 2 seprate ones ? they won't lose any kind of power would they ?
Cheers.

If your motherboard supports SATA II then yes remove the jumper.

The power conenctors coming from the same PSU are fine.

On my Samsung SATA drive, i had to use a bootable ISO application from samsung to limit the speed to 1.5 in order for it to work with my old A8V.

However, i've just built a new system that supports SATAII and i have no idea how to get it back to the standard speed at which it should run. I've tried the samsung website but i get lost!

Would moving a jumper force it to work at 3gbps?

Many thanks. (sorry for hijacking)

Edit, is there any utility that will check to see if it is still running at 1.5gbps as opposed to 3gbps?
