Hello,

I am currently looking at upgrading my PC, main purpose is better framerate in games, faster file extraction, using Visual Studio, and just want AM5 for future proofing.

I am looking at getting the following specs:
Ryzen 9 7950X
ASUS X870-P WiFi
2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600MHz
Corsair RMe 750W 80 PLUS GOLD
CORSAIR ICUE LINK TITAN 280 RX RGB

The above will be in a new case, Corsair 4000D Airflow RGB.

I currently already have a Gigabyte RTX 3060 EAGLE OC and 2 M.2 NVMe SSDs - so no need to change these.

My current build is
Ryzen 5 3500X
ASUS TUF B550-PLUS WiFi
Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz 2x16GB
Default fan that came with the 3500X

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi and welcome.

If your main purpose is gaming then a 5700x3d and a better GPU would give you that.

What resolution you gaming at ?
this 5700x3d and a massive GPU upgrade.
but if you want new the 7950x is a very expensive CPU for gaming and a little bit of Visual Studio, a 9700x would be just as good at both tasks

ASUS X870-P WiFi
the X boards dont really bring anything to the table that you would ever use in the next few years, B boards are much better value for money and very rich in features

Didn't realise 3060 was considered so far behind, time moves too fast.

Thanks for the info about the board, they are quite expensive nowadays.
