Is this likely to improve later in the year?

I really wanted to build using a 5900X - the only option is a 5800X, albeit at an excellent price through OCUK. I also wanted a RTX3080 - the only options are 3080 priced 3070s!

I realise we are all in this position. Perhaps things will get better in Q2-Q3?

Apologies if this is a duplication of another thread!

I flight sim and they benefit quite heavily from multithreading. Also, I don't upgrade that often so there is a certain element of wanting to future proof too.
If your gaming at 4k the cpu will be less important but those extra cores as yoi say some what future proof.

Big issue along with Covid is shipping containers . And then you've got brexit as well . Most stock well all stock lands in the EU, most AIB it's NL and then shipped here

So many factors right now it seems, not to mention a surge in demand due to lockdowns and crypto mining etc! Could Brexit have an impact on hardware costs in the future?

I've been doing some reading and multiple sources state that supply globally could be constrained until at least Q2!
