Hi hope someone can help,

I just swapped out my 2500k for a 3770k in my Asus V Gene board, also replaced my two 4GB sticks of HyperX Genesis Grey for two 4GB sticks of Samsung Green.

When I first booted it didn't post and had error 55 on the debug LED (No memory installed) so I then tried one stick in the channel DIMM_B2 (last channel) and it booted fine. I then swapped the sticks over in the same channel and that worked too. I then tried both sticks in channel DIMM_A2 (2nd from left) and it doesn't boot. In the manual it recommends using DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 channels which are 2nd and 4th.

I have tried out the old HyperX Grey and that now does the same. When I got the board a few weeks back I just put in both sticks of Grey in A2 and B2 and it worked fine.

Any ideas?

Ive hit a similar problem, one stick in DIMM 2 will boot the system. Put a stick in any other DIMM and it will no longer boot.

Unfortunately, I think its a motherboard issue.

Might you have slightly over tightened the water block when swapping the CPU?

You could try loosening it a touch to see if it sorts the problem.

Sorry I mean one stick in 3rd and 4th worked should I try both together?

You want 1+3 or 2+4 together, otherwise its not running in dual channel mode which is pointless.

Did you try clearing the CMOS? you never answered this? also powering off and removing the battery for a minute or two might help.

I did actually update to latest bios a few days ago (last thing i done before shutting down) draining and installing these components. Just going to roll back to the bios that was working before all this.

Get your self a 0.5mm automatic/mechanical pencil, remove the lead and slide the pencil on the pin that is bent and straighten it.

* that is of course if it is out of warranty. Although generally warranty doesn't cover that as it is the users fault for bending them in most cases.
