Hardware Failure

I finished my rig yesterday (E4500, P35C-DS3R, X1950PRO, Ballistix PC5300 RAM 2GB, Corsair 520W PSU). Everything is running fine, I get a little below 40C for the CPU temps in Coretemp and Speedfan. I was just running Guild Wars and got a message up saying "Hardware Failure". Oblivion also glitched slightly on me earlier. I dont think that I can check my GPU temps (if anyone can tell me how, please do-I cant find it in ATItool though). What could the problem be?

have you downloaded all windows updates and all the most recent hardware drivers for everything?

Vista-it had crossed my mind that it was just a glitch to do with that. Its all updated though.
