Hardware FW + Software FW

Just finished a new build and finished installing NIS, then it dawned on me that I already have a Netgear wireless (using wireless with 128 encryp) Router/firewall - is there really any need for a software firewall with the router already having the HWFW, I mean is it just personal preference to whether both are needed or what?
If its not needed I'd feel much happier running less resource hungry AV like NOD32 or Kasper......

Anyone care to enlighten me?

Software FW is good for blocking outbound (that the Netgear firewall won't stop). I personally use the Windows Vista firewall but Sygate/Kerio/ZoneAlarm comes quite highly recommended on these forums. :)

Really wouldn't bother with a software firewall too so long as you have decent antivirus/antispyware software. That said I don't even bother with those these days - I'm just very careful what I open/run :o
