Folks,

Upgraded to Core i5 3570K at default clock speed recently, with 8GB DDR3 RAM running at 1668MHz. Graphics card is GTX 560 Ti.

Tried BF3 at Ultra settings, smooth like silk. Also tried Flaming Cliff 2, very smooth too.

Is my upgrade overkilled for most games? What titles can stretch my current setup?

Peter

what resolution do you play?

In no way is it overkill infact graphics card wise its low end enthusiast and a gen old at that

There is no way you are playing BF3 on Ultra, not at 1920x1080.

CPU is fine for current games. The 560 is a little behind the curve but not massively so. If it's playing nicely for you why beat yourself up about it?

Actually Windows Experience i saying 7.9 7.8 7.6 5.9. The last one is the hard drive which makes sense to me. Those before 5.9 are the CPU, graphics..etc as you know, so they are pretty close.

There is nothing wrong with your system. The 560ti is a good card and will play most games on medium to high settings depending on resolution.
If you are worried about your system`s performance, just run some bench tests.

Any recommendations? Preferably free of charges

What games do you have besides BF3?
Metro 2033 has a benchmark in game.
