Hardware requirements for watching HVEC format video files.

As title, I've put together a pc for someone with the following
i7 2600K @ 4.5ghz, 16 gb DDR3 1600mhz, Asus P8P67 pro motherboard, Asus 1060 6gb, windows 10 64bit.

Question is would this setup be able run these HVEC files?

Will it run it with that setup? Yeah. Use VLC media player and job done.

HEVC hardware decoding will be done by almost any modern-ish graphics card. Your 1060 will handle it easily.

MPC-BE with MadVr for HDR will do a better job than VLC. VLC is choppy for even with a 2080ti.
