Hardware upgrade.

Hi guys,

I mate is looking to upgrade his system and has about £400ish to spend. His current spec is:

i5 750
Gigabyte P55-UD5
GTX480
8Gb 1600MHz RAM
500GB HDD
650W PSU

He has just upgraded his monitor so doesn't need the likes of that but would like to see a pretty decent performance boost.

His other option is to get a whole new system with a budget of £700-£800. What do you all recommend?

Tbh, that's already quite a nice system.

Maybe go for a Z77 motherboard, a decent SSD and a 7850?

Flog the replaced components too and he'll have a bigger budget.

Are you sure he has an i5 2500K? It wouldn't work with that motherboard (its socket 1156).

An SSD if definitely a good option,

Is his 480 struggling? Still a good graphics card

I'd keep it all, get a decent cooler and overclock it. Is it overclocked at all at the moment?

What case do they have?
