do i need to register my new components with the manufacturers sites (date purchased, serial numbers etc.) to activate the warranties?

just reggd the mobo/hd .. my wd external hd i can't remember when i bought and my amazon acct. (if it's the one i used to buy it with) isn't showing it XD
