Hardwood wardrobes - with PAX like internal storage?

I've just bought my first property and I'm looking at new furniture although I'm struggling to find something wardrobe wise that suits my needs.

I've been renting a room from a friend for the past 6 months whilst I've been house hunting and the room already came with IKEA furniture. This includes a PAX wardrobe which I have to admit is great in terms of having clever little storage systems inside (pull out trouser rails, shoe shelf and pull out trays with dividers for things like ties).

The only issue I have with IKEA is I prefer solid oak for both the style and longevity.

Are there any sites that sell solid oak triple wardrobes with more than the usual shelves at the bottom and rail at the top? Or is custom but very expensive the only way to go?

I looked at solid oak, however could not find something with anywhere near the practicality of IKEA Pax wardrobes.

We ended up going for modern look (half mirror/half "pine") sliding doors. I think you can spec them to use solid wood doors, i.e. like the Hermes range.

How do the doors connect on the PAX? If they are normal ikea style they will have pre drilled holes and use either screw in or fast connect hinges.
If they are like this then you can buy the whole system except doors and get a decent woodworker to make doors to fit.

We've been looking for something similar. It would be great if a company made some kind of solid oak modular wardrobe system.

All the solid oak wardrobes that I look at don't make very good use of the height of the room as they're very short.
