Harry Redknapp gone

LOL, it has increased...

And you know this how?

Take a look at the players who have come an gone since Redknapp took over, not that he actually has anything to do with wages anyway, but you'll see the squad has actually been cut back over the last 3 and a half years. Remember we only actually signed Scott Parker and Friedel last season as actual first team players, while O'Hara, Woodgate, Keane, Hutton, Crouch, Palacios and Pavlyuchenko all left. That on its own would have freed up a huge amount of wages, the short term loans would never have come close to this, and it's a pretty similar picture since Redknapp took over. Then theres the Champions League money that was never spent...

GONE!

I cant imagine Levy has been particularly impressed with 'Arry this season, blabbing about contract talks on the day Levys mother died, whoring himself out for the England job, depicting himself, the manager of a multimillion pound football club as an illiterate technophobic halfwit, and making Levy look like a clown by employing such a person in the first place.
Blowing 3rd place due to borderline negligence then blabbing to the media about wanting a 3yr deal was probably the final straw.

This decision was made months ago after the Harry England fiasco.

A Few club sources said they where not going to give Harry a new contract as they had plans in place for a restructure of the way the club is run.

They cant afford to keep up with the top 4 so they plan to invest in young talent.

So after he dint get the England job they where still going to restructure

I know Spurs had games in hand which could have made them top - but I dont recall Spurs actually being joint top at all (huge difference imo )

Personally thought Arry was a good manager, and him and Spurs were a good combination - also consider that Chelsea and Liverpool are going to start getting stronger in general (surely this has to happen at some point?) Spurs will be lucky to finish 6th in a good season, its gonna be tough for whoever steps into Arry's place

Very surprised, yes Harry has his faults, but i dare say he would have kept his job up to the 60th min in the last game. I remember reading the report on the last Arsenal game "Flop Fulop gifts Arsenal 3rd". I think if we had 3rd, Levy would havent have been able to sack him.

The moment it all went wrong for the old dog.

I'm delighted about this

Harry Redknapp is an absolute **** and I hope this means he's done with English football

This is made all the more amusing by his insistence not 24 hours earlier that the rumours were rubbish and he wasn't going anywhere. :p

Next season is going to be fascinating, lots of managerial changes and a host of new, top players are coming to the league. Good times!

As soon as that rant about him not leaving came out a day or two ago, I said to a friend he'll be gone before the end of the week. He just seemed a bit too upset at something that was supposedly untrue.

Good, thanks for the memories, but his lack of respect, loyalty and his complete collapse in 2 seasons means I am glad he is out of our club. With that squad 3rd was the target. 2nd achievable with some good tactics etc...he had no plan B and his media love fest was his undoing.
