Harsh!

The computer labs here have been closed for after hours access because of people eating and drinking in them. Unfortunately there were no sarcastic emails. Lots of 3rd and 4th years are quite annoyed about it especially since deadlines are coming up.

I think the point is that others would like to use the computers. Why should a user have to put up with a crum-infested, greasy-keyed, smelly and sticky keyboard that some fat eejit used before?

I hate using a mouse that has been used by someone else, and has greasy fingermarks all over it. I feel that some of their retardedness is infecting me when I make contact with their greasy, slimy mess.

It's not on!

Actually I remember we threw a little surprise retirement party for one of our IT teachers at school. I think that's a legitimate reason (ignoring the fact that throwing a retirement party for a teacher is fairly sad in itself)
 
IT staff always complained as well. I just told them to sod off, just walk away in a huff. If I do eat crisps I wipe my hands on a hanky, and don't eat over the keyboard. Same for drinks, keep it away from PC itself. If people needed do coursework throughout dinner time need to work and eat.

Well done to you, as you are apparently the only one doing such things. Unfortunately, the masses are invariably grimy and incosiderate.
