I notice that the 6870 scales incredibly well in crossfire.Is this down to hardware changes or have any 5870,5850 owners noticed a big improvement recently due to drivers?.

Ati's 6 series seems to scale better in cfx than on the 5 series. A good thing too, in some games the scaling is quite simply, pathetic on the 5 series.
I've not noticed any real gains in cfx performance however I am still using 10.10e's best driver I've used so far touch wood.

Thanks for answer lay-z-boy,looks like getting a cheap 5870now and looking to crossfire later wouldn't be top idea then!.I will just have to wait a week like about 500,000 others!.

If crossfire is the plan go 6870 instead of 5870 as amd have made great steps forward in scaling to where they are now better than nv's sli.
