ah thats good then :) always nice to hear positive stuff reinforced. Oh and I just found out that the course takes 10-12 hours to read on average. Then there are the exams etc. at the end. So if anyone was interested thats how long it takes :p

I'll be doing in September when I finish my current contract.

It was a toss-up between that and ITIL foundation in January and I chose ITIL. Wish I'd chosen the Prince 2 since it's very valuable in the contractor market.

Prince 2 is government back and internationally recognised as one of the best project management methodologies.

It's well worth doing, considering I'm going to have to pay for it myself and it costs about £1,800 I consider it a bargain.

The foundation takes about 2 days and the practitioner takes about the same and both finish with exams. Most traiing providers do them both together over 5 days and that's the price I've quoted.

It's the practitioner part that's really the valuable bit but you have to do the foundation first.

Prince 2 is government backed does this mean you can get funding from the gov?

If you do a lot of project work, it can't hurt to have it.

The only issue that I have with it is over reliance on documentation - the current project that I am on has a prince2 obsessed PM, and it's all about documenting, rather than getting any work done.

I've just finished a ten page doc for 10 minutes work that I did three months ago.
