Has anybody fit a Lian Li fan controller?

I bought one of these and while it looks nice on the front of the case but it doesn't seem to let you directly set the speed of the fans.

The main thing is however I have no idea where the temperature sensors should be placed - especially the cpu one?

I assume you just stick them on with the thermal tape but am I meant to try to jam it between my lidless CPU and waterblock as surely this would affect the cooling performace?

I'm stumped!!!

Edit: Just had a thought...am I meant to find the sensors on my mobo and put the ones from the controller next to them?

It says fan control on the OcUK website, but I think its either auto control, or it is just monitoring.

You stick the CPU one on the CPU or in the heatsink, whichever you prefer, I have one on each of my Hard Drives aswell, on the top.

Best use I have found

If it's the TR3 Here the i don't actually think it can control the fans speed - I have one as does Yewen, but i have never found out how it controls fans, not that i've really looked into it though.

Place the sensors where ever you want them using the thermal tape, However DO NOT squash it between CPU and heatsink/waterblock as this will damage it. I have mine resting between the fins of the heatsink, one on the sysemt drive and one stuck to the motherboard tray.
