I have a 32bit Vista Home Premium upgrade disk and I want a 64bit one, and Microsoft have a website that is supposed to let you order one ( http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/2057/ordermedia/default.mspx ) but it's always ridiculously slow for me and throws up errors all the time and I have never actually successfully managed to order a disk and it's getting pretty annoying, I've tried on multiple computers and internet connections with no luck.

So I'm wondering if anybody else has tried and had any luck?

Also does anybody know if it would work if I "acquired" a retail x64 disk and banged my own product key in would it work?

I have ordered from them before :) it definitely work but take about 2 weeks for delivery

yes, it will work. All they send you is the 64-bit DVD anyway. You can install Vista by using any 64-bit DVD and the key that you got.

@Craig321: no, the 64-bit DVD doesnt come with new key, you just use the one you have ;)

Thanks for that info, I really cannot understand why it will not work I've tried it at several locations.

I cannot find any x64 upgrade disk torrents or anything so I was wondering if a normal x64 Home Premium retail DVD would accept my upgrade version key?

So if I were to use my Vista Home Premium - Retail serial key on a 64bit Vista Ultimate - OEM I would get 64bit Home Premium?

Retail DVDs contain every version and it just installs the version corresponding to your Product key whilst OEM editions only contain the version the disk says on it IIRC
