Has anyone bought web hosting lately?

Hello there chaps,

I'm looking to buy web hosting and an address for a website for my sisters business. There's plenty of companies offering these services, I was wondering if anyone could recommend one that will be good value for hosting a small website?

I've beeen using PAC Webhosting for about a year now. It's only 30quid and it offers everything I've needed.
If they have faults I haven't found any. I'm sure there are many of them out there the same though.

I use Vidahost for my band's website too.

The Customer Support is absolutely amazing - got a reply within like 5 minutes of asking a question!! Really great, and great uptime and features.

Basically I can't see any reason to look beyond them tbh!

stick to something well known - hostgator has always served me well and had fantastic uptime - beware some of the smaller hosts as I have experienced terrible downtime with many of them.

Vidahost. Never set up a site before so must have annoyed the hell out of their customer services on the phone, but they were great. Helped me out with loads of issues would definitely recommend.

been with them a few years now, only had to contact them a couple of times, both were daft o clock int he morning and still got very fast replies with the issues being resolved @FPOC

Im on the £50 Pro package I think they call it on a (IIRC) windows based server.
Think its like 50Gb disc space, 150Gb traffic unlimited emails and access for databases/forums/sub domains.

I use it for email and maybe sending the odd file to friends lol, maybe a tad overkill
