Has anyone else "gone off" WoW?

Hey all.

Even though i've played WoW since beta (so a few years now) i've only ever had the chance to raid once, in a guild that did a load of the old level 60 content.

Now I wanted to get back into this and experience some of the TBC content, however i'm having a bit of trouble - I seem to have totally gone off the game.

I rolled on the new Blade's Edge server, got myself into a nice guild where everyone seems friendly, but I just seem to totally lose motivation. I keep trying but the more I do, the less I seem to want to play.

It's a pity really - i'd like to see some of the TBC endgame content before that becomes obsolete also.

Anyone else have this problem?

Also i'd like to apologise for the vagueness of the thread. :o

Well I know you don't find it fun being "bossed around" but I think you just got unlucky with guild choice.

I think in the right guild, raiding can be really good fun. When I was raiding pre-TBC it was such a laugh, but we made some really good progress (first MC run saw us downing all up to and including Geddon) and there was no yelling, arguing, just 40 people eager to make progress.

Given that I paid £40 for copies of TBC for me and my partner, I think I deserve to see at least *some* of the content. I did roll with Azrael on Nagrand, however it's a very casual guild and I was always intending just make friends and level for fun, and then move to raid when a new server came along.

And now it has, I can't get into the right frame of mind. :(

Just thought i'd update...

I took a month off, then went back, played for about a week then got bored and cancelled again.

Not sure if i'll bother with WotLK as I don't seem to have the "drive" to play anymore. I'll see when the time comes.

The "starting areas" in WoW are a couple, maybe three or four hours, even when you're just starting out.

10 hours should be plenty time to see if you really like an MMO or not.

I've tried other MMOs, my pick of the rest being LotRO. I just don't see how you can go from thousands per server on WoW to a few hundred on another game. It was like a ghost town. Pity, as there was nothing wrong with the gameplay, but it was impossible to get groups for the stacks of group quests available.
