Has anyone ever changed to hoses on a CPU AIO for rigid tubes?

I have a Dilemma. I really want the look of a custom loop. (specifically the coloured coolant flowing in the tubes to the CPU) and the lower temps are good too obviously. But I really don't want the hassle of building a full custom loop, and the costs involved. I have no interest in buying GPU blocks and pumps and all that stuff.

So the obvious choice would be to buy a AIO (e.g. NZXT X62) and just replace the hoses with acrylic tubing. Very lost cost to do and should be pretty easy.

Has anyone done this?

It's a sealed unit and doesn't have threaded fittings.

You would need to somehow tap a thread into the rad and block - rad is probably doable by soldering a threaded collar , but the block/pump would be a totally different story. Not worth the hassle in my opinion.

You can get this for £20 more than the X62, and then you can add your tubing.

be quiet! Silent Loop AIOs (made by Aphacool) have proper fittings .. copper radiator too.
Silent Loop 280mm is £134.99

So does Fractal Design Celcius (made by Asetek), but it's aluminum radiator. 240mm and 360mm are £106.99 & £116.99
