Has anyone gone from X1900XT to Crossfire?

I'm getting a bunch of new games this Xmas, most notably, Flight Sim X. I'm wondering what sort of performance jump people are seeing going from a single card to Crossfire. All reviews tend to compare Crossfire with GX* etc.

Is it worth picking up a master card for these new games?

If it helps -
Mobo: MSI 975x PowerUp
CPU: Intel C2D 6300
GPU: X1900XT [512]

you will see around about 50-60% increase in fps in games from what ive seen it also depends on which games support it natively and which dont decide to play up when you force afr.

Are you sure? That's massive. Jeeez!

yup like i said depends on what game it is normally, take 2142 for example i went from 50 fps maxed out to 90+fps, also dont just take the fps numbers, know that you WILL be able to crank everything up in the control panel and still play a game as smooth as ever cranking up AF/AA has virtually no performance sacrifice on crossfire, afterall thats what its for right ;)

you dont need a master now, just a normal 1900 afaik

this is true if you can source a master you may aswell if its the same price as a 1900xt and will give better performance than software crossfire, although id say the orginal masters are as rare as hell now. I have the master btw ;)

The masters normally kick around on the markets now and again. I've no probs going 2nd user as it's a temp upgrade to see me through till DX10 matures. Cheers lads.

how much you got to spend ;)

I wasn't looking to spend more than £200. I hadn't planned to spend anything until I heard Santa is bringing me Flight Sim X. If I do go more than £200 then I have to consider the sale of the existing card and the purchase of the 8800. Then I'm on the wagon. I might as well wait until decent DX10's are around.

i went from 1900xt to crossfire, i get 10000 in 3dmark06. was happy at first but you only get nice performance in certain games, bf2, source were sweet. But newer games really struggle, like fsx, arma, test drive, especially with hdr options.

Think im going to sell them and get a 8800.
