has anyone got a guide for chopping 1 photo into 3 different shaped canvases?

Hi all, I have a big photo from a number of stiched pics stitched together..

I want to cut this into 3 canvas prints. 1 portrait aspect, then another portrait but larger then another same size as the 1st but landscape. All top edges to line up and a gap in between. (Still undecided on the landscape one. Need to mock it up and try..)

My problem is I'm not sure where to start. I'm paranoid I'll get the scale wrong on the and each will look like a zoomed in mess :o

Is there any printers where I can just send the picture to and they can work out the sizing?

The printers I've used have cropping abilities on their site and whilst I haven't tried to have any multi part/triptych jobs done, I suspect they would have something for it!

Yeah there's a few options here for multi part prints

The canvas ones only seem to have 4 part ones but there's another type of print with 3 too :) I'm sure other sites will have something similar too

Failing that you can just work it out with a bit of maths and stuff :P Find a printer you want to use and look at what they have available. Look at the ratios available and split your shot accordingly but that's a little more work :)

You tried uploading them to the print sites to see what you can do there? I'd bet a lot of builtin crop facilities.

If you've got photoshop there are turorials on using smart objects etc to create the three rectangles for your images. Might be easier to work it through that then send it off to print as 'one' larger image consisting of the three?

Slightly different to what you're needing but relevant to the technique

I think thats what i'm trying to achieve..

I'm still not happy with the setup though. Too big a black area bottom left and right..

OK, I've lived with them a few days and prefer the 1st option. Would shift the picture across slightly to even out the ends.

Regarding the gap between frames, i assume you miss some picture out so it looks like your looking through a window and can't see bits behind the posts??
