Has anyone had bad experiences with TP-LINK USB wireless dongles?

This is the second one I've bought and I think it's died. I can ping using the command line but I cannot browse the internet or anything. My first TP-LINK gave me frequent internet drops. I'm using my galaxy S2 as a USB tether right now.

Just want to know if it's perhaps my computer system or these TP-LINK dongles
 
You need to give more information.

Is an IP address being assigned?
Can you ping the gateway?
Can you ping 8.8.8.8?
Can you ping bbc.co.uk?
 
Which browser are you using? Have you tried a different one? Can you browse to the router's admin page via IP?
