Hey-oooo,

(First off I have posted on GD and was told it was better to try here so apologies for double thread)

I am planning on doing the Mongolia Rally in either 2013 or 2014 on a motorbike.

On bike you do it in teams on 2 so my dad is coming also, I am hoping to have a party of at least 4 of us.

There are lots of companies that organise these events but I think we will do it with Go Help for 2 reasons. 1. They are 100% charity 2. They do not restrict the cc of the bike.

The route I am planning to go is through: UK, Belgium, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan (Boat across Caspian Sea), Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan (Pamir Highway M41), Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia.

It should take about 6 weeks and at the moment we are planning on doing it on Suzuki DR 300's.

If you have done it before please let me know and share some tips. Also if you have any thoughts on the bike or route that would be good.

Cheers

Adam

Thanks, have been looking through it all night. Some good trips and makes me want to get out there straight away.

Also thanks for the positive reply's. It is still early in its planning stages and I need a bit more road experience on a bike before next year. Luckly I have a long background in off road, mainly enduro's which should come in useful.

The original plan was to do it on Honda Cub 90's which may still happen.

All this planning means that my geography skills for eastern europe and the middle east are pretty good now.

I will make sure I post any progress in the future.

Regards

Adam
