Had to rebuild it last year and after letting the engine sit for a few months, it's time to do it again. (yay ). They're almost impossible to seal after a rebuild and i had to use freaking superglue around the seam to keep it from leaking.

Anyone else had to do this?

Yes. Didn't take me long to bin the system off and had electronic fuel injection fitted using a Gotech ECU. Ran so much better and more economical, not that an Escort RS Turbo is economical.

I see a few people have done this. Want to do it further down the line but have no idea where to start with ECU tampering. Also just curious what did you do with your old system? They're getting rarer by the year.

I think from memory of I let them have it they knocked something off my bill.

Was Jamsport that did it, think all in it was about £1200.
Dropped it off one week and picked it up a week or two later, included live mapping as well. Drove beautifully after.

Ah. I'd probably stick with annual k-jet overhauls if thats the professional conversion cost. But hey, cars are expensive :p

Been researching and it looks like carb conversions are another option. More straightforward and less maintenance but there would be more improvisation on how to fit it than EFJ.

I've had bike carbs on a car before as well, they worked really well and sounded awesome. Basically a carb per cylinder, ran megajolt ignition with that. To be honest I think it was a similar cost overall.
But you could go the Weber route as well but they're not as refined as bike carbs with the way they work.

If your good with cars though I dare say you could fit bike carbs yourself get a basic set up then get it running roaded for a final setup.
