used a 5700 series gpu on a socket 939 motherboard

i have 5770 problems and wondering if anyone has ever found a mobo that works or has successfully done it?

something to do with the nforce 4 chipset not being compatible

Not heard of any issue with 939 but I guess most people are on newer platforms now. Have you found much online to suggest there would be problems?

Try the above.....You sure your psu has enough power?

check out graphics thread over 4 pages and 100 replies since this morning.
i'm on latest bios
latest chipset drivers
i have 2 psu's that i have tried 1x 430 and a 720 i tried using the card on one and the mobo on another no joy just the mobo won't post when the 5770 is plugged in
defo think it's a copatibility problem lots on the google about it altho no hard facts

ermm i guess another option is RMA?

Nope, nothing wrong with the card. Knowing OcUK, they'll take it back, test it, and charge £20 to his account without asking (though a reminder is in the RMA mail).

One could argue that the card does not work with his setup, and that it's not fit for purpose and that there was no warning of this problem, though it should be up to the customer on this account - no company can sum up all the potential compatibility problems with every PC component they sell unfortunately.

If it's within 7 days, it can be returned under the DSR.

Other than that, you're looking at flogging your motherboard and CPU and upgrading to something a bit less outdated. Or, selling the card on of course.
