has anyone recently made the move from Mac to PC?

Ok...so i was always a PC user in my teens up to my mid to late 20's. I'd build my own, would love gaming and generally was a PC type of guy.

In 2009 i got a macbook pro (still have it!) which i loved. Subsequently, in 2011, i got an iMac, which again - I still use. (both have ssd upgrades).

Now, i must say that i enjoy the Mac OS even though i'm my no means an expert. It just seems very simple and easy to use. I've had so few problems with it that they're barely worth mentioning really.

However...I'm getting 'the itch'. It's probably about time i upgraded, one way or another as I use my computer every day for editing photographs in particular (lightroom and photoshop). I kind of miss steam and pc gaming a bit, not to mention the ability to upgrade easily, and add cooling solutions where necessary (my imac is overheating a lot recently and it's a pain!).

So how is windows these days...and who amongst you fine people has fairly recently migrated? I'm sorely tempted to try an do a £1500-2k build.

One last thing - i have a couple of thunderbolt devices which i'd need to keep. So would i need a motherboard with thunderbolt, or does usb-3 cover this now (i'm so out of the loop!!) Thanks

I use both systems. They both work. There isn't anything up with having one or the other system. I would say you can get better hardware on a Windows system because you can customise the hardware much greater than the Mac but I find Mac more stable due to only select hardware it's been built for.
