has anyone used digital rev?

The camera is an import, and as such may be branded Rebel T3i instead of EOS 600D. If you order from the digitalrev website (as you have linked) then you will not have to worry about import duties at al (they are covered) and they also do offer a local warranty service for you to send your camera to should it break (as you noticed).

May not be the case, the 650d I bought from ******* was branded as a 650d like it should and not a Rebel XX. I expect the same would be the case for stuff from DR

Yea same happened to my dad when we got his 600D from HDEW - a 600D arrived! However with all these importers, Im pretty sure they source their stock from different places week to week depending on price, and as such they reserve the right to send you a Rebel branded camera by including it in the naming of the item. So in some cases, that could be what you receive. Just worth being aware of that in case anyone has their heart set on an 550/600/650D branded camera for whatever reason (resale value within the UK perhaps).

Well.....got an email from them yesterday with tracking details etc saying i'll get delivery on 19th October.
Got in to the office at 2pm and guess what's on my desk?
How's that for service.
Everything seems in order. Looks like i may have to download the English user manual as there is a sticker on the pack saying so, but that's no biggie.

Thanks for the feedback guys, without the recommendations of the OCUK massive i wouldn't have bought from this digitalrev; and i wouldn't have gotten such a great deal.
Got my new car today....and now Mrs Banzai can have something of her own to be excited about tonight too.
Plus.....i'll expect a sloppy out of this deal. ;)

The charging adaptor is a bit dodgy. They've basically sent a shaver plug for me to insert to the 2 metal prongs from the charger into. They bend outwards slightly to fit the holes but won't stay in, so i had to balance the charger against something to ensure a constant power connection to the battery charger.
That said, i could always buy a UK charger, considering how much money i saved on the deal.

The one my girlfriend got with her nikon J1 was the same but didn't slip out. Was quite a nice snug fit. You could just buy another shaving plug for around £1 (max lol) and still enjoy the large discount :D

My order is in the UK so will probably turn up tomorrow, annoyingly, seen as I'm out all day! If it turned up today though it would be a god send lol. Its in the DHL leeds facility atm which is the final leg before it gets put onto a van for delivery, so theres a chance for today I suppose! Fingers crossed.

I guess the charger is an all in one thing and doesn't have a detachable power cord? The 650d I got from ******* had the correct UK plug on it too but maybe DR are lazy with the plugs? lol

Well DHL redeemed my late dispatch on my order as they did next day delivery from hong kong, now thats crazy!

Aye, their delivery times are good sometimes lol

My last order from ******* or DR arrived in Nottingham at something like 0200 and was delivered here near Brighton by 1300 or something after having stopped at 3 different sorting places :|

So what is the general consensus between these two companies.

We got Digital Rev & *******

******* doing the 5D III for sub 2k now with Digital Rev only being about £40 more.

I'll be buying a 5DIII in December from one of these I think. Swinging toward the rev at the moment based purely on the fact I know them better.

I actually used both to get my 5Dmk3 and battery grip. I got the camera from ******* and the grip from Digi rev. Both dispatched at the same time, same shipping routes and Digi rev beat ******* by 2 hours delivering purely due to shipping within the UK.

I can't fault either. ******* sent me the wrong spare battery (I have a spare LP-E8 I'll never use now :D) and when I contacted them, they said it was a stupid error by someone at the warehouse and sent me the correct battery, which arrived a few days later. Not a problem as I have the same batteries in my 60D :)

I'll be using Digi rev December/January to order the new Canon flash as ******* don't seem to stock them.

Oh, I got my 35L & 85L from ******* at the same time too. So much bubble wrap you could drop them off the Empire state building and they wouldn't break :D
