Has Memory gone up in price a lot recently?

The prices of DDR3 are rising literally by the day yes so your observation is spot on.

I got 16gb sammy green for £65 too, gibbo had it on offer a few months back.

Yep a sweet deal that went sour when my motherboard decided to hate it :p

My friend got the same deal and has the same issue!

he is running a gigabyte z77 ud5

From what I understood it was a bios support issue with msi boards (z77 & x79). Tell your friend to try the very latest beta bios, betas are something msi x79 are really lacking unlike giga. It would work fine at stock cl11 1600 1.35v, but any higher required massive amounts of sa/vtt (over 1.3v for 1866 cl11) which defeated the point of having the memory. Now running some ripjawsz 2133 cl9 @ 2404 cl10 with sub 1.2v sa/vtt :)

Paid £65.00 for 8gb of it a few weeks ago. Two weeks prior to that it was going for £37.00 for 8gb. The day i received mine in the post, several kits of it appeared on members market in round the 30 quid mark. Typical lol.:D

come-off it - I'm sure I paid £102 a year ago for 16gb of Samsung

so its not much more

where did you buy 16gb for 65 ?

Such little faith. Like the others who have already replied, got mine from here as well. I am not in the habit of lying about how much i paid for something.

It was, I actually missed the initial deal (sold out of allocation) but after a few of us begged Gibbo, he put another 30 kits on offer that same evening :)

I still remember paying ~£70 for 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance CL9 1600 sometime in 2011, they hit an all time low maybe 5 or so months ago, some 2x4GB kits were as low as £24 iirc.
