My old Vaio with its GeForce Go5700 is having some problems, first of all it was stuck at 800x600 in 4-bit mode with all kinds of image corruption. After trying system restore (no help) I uninstalled the drivers and managed to get 1024x768 @ 32 bit, however the screen's resolution is 1280x768 (I'm guessing that the default Windows driver doesn't recognise 16:9 resolutions). Installing the drivers again caused it to revert back to 800x600 @ 4-bit and on other tries it caused BSODs. The operating system is XP SP2, and I know the corruption isn't due to the screen as none of the pixels are stuck or anything like that. I'm guessing there's something wrong with the card itself (memory?), and since it's soldered onto the motherboard I'll have to replace the PC entirely, but before doing that I need a second opinion on this. I've included some photos of the corruption so you guys can judge properly:
Everything else on the PC is working properly. Don't know the cause of the problem since my sister was on it at the time.
