was playing cod4 when my mouse just stopped working, lights went out. I've restarted and tried different USB ports, still no luck, any ideas?

EDIT: it's a logitech G5

sorry, it's a G5, so wired.

yea i plugged another mouse in and it's fine, then when i start up cod4 again my G5 lights up and works, then on exiting it turns off again. tried loading up cod4 again but it's not coming back on, very weird....maybe dodgy wire on it or something?

Maybe, but if this is a consistent thing it would suggest not. I would suspect drivers or something like that, have you tried deleting and reinstalling the mouse drivers?

tried reinstalling drivers with no luck, it only works when i'm playing cod4 and actually in a game, not even at the menu. :(

have you tried uninstalling setpoint and just using the windows drivers?

Setpoint has some form of game detection so it would explain why it would only work in games if something was up.

What was his name?

This is usually a bad connection where the wire meets the outer mouse casing.

Try wiggling the wire and see what happens. If this is the problem, you could fix it yourself if the mouse is old.
Otherwise, return it to the shop or logitech.
