Has my xbox 360 just died ?

Hello,

Just been playing ace combat and the graphics went all different colours, you could still make out what was happening but all the graphics went weird colours.

Exit to dash board and still same problem !

Turn 360 off and check VGA connection to HDTV was fine.

Turn back on, can here sounds but no display TV just says no signal !

Tested on another TV with scart socket and same, sound but no picture !

Has it died ?

Could possibly be the cable going.

Tested cable and thats fine, looks like its dead

Will ring them up tomorrow to send away

Will it cost me anything ? i hope not ! date on it is 2006 - 01 - 05

How long does it usally take to send away and return to me ?

2 weeks, but being xmas who knows, wouldn't get your hopes up for getting it back this side of xmas thats for sure.

Mine's gone today too, three red lights. This is the 2nd one. Unfortunately I've no warranty as I changed the case over. Oh well. It's currently sat inside two towels

Its seems strange that you always seem to have a couple of 360 die at about the same time? Or is just me? My friend got his 360 back this week after being on its hols for around 2 weeks, one of my others mates took 5 weeks and he sent it back late october for the same fault ( RROD), so i guess its down to luck in how quick they come back.

i don't think you'll be able to get repaired under warranty? that machine is approaching 2 yrs old, either in jan or may (can never remember which way americans put their dates!) and as it hasn't had the three red light error it's not covered, sadly.

The Dons seriously just need to make a "My 360 Has Died" Sticky at the rate threads are made....I feel your pain however, i'm on my third which is nearly a year old now....So must be due to die soon enough

No of course not! I just wonder why it seems to happen like this, in the summer i guess you could put it down to the temp, but now i dunno lol. Just that as im a electronics Test engineer we have yo look at things like this and it just seems it happens in groups. Maybe a particular game stressing the CPu/GPU more than others not sure.
Or did you all post in the my 360s working thread? it may be a curse!!!

Agreed, '360 is died' threads kept coming up almost every day!

Anyone tell me if i buy an elite can i use my 20gb in the elite ?

also how can i transfer all my files on the 20gb to the 120gb hdd ? can u buy a cable to do it ?

Mines is dying too, it beeped and then froze while playing mass effect. Tried crackdown and the screen went black as soon as anything graphical came up. Tried to start it up but got RROD. Another quick try and it froze again. It only lasted 4months
