i just turned the xbox on after a week maybe to play some cod and i noticed a message saying i was last signed in to another console, this is not true as i dont have another console. so i had over 2000 points and they are all gone but download history shows no purchases?

please help and maybe advise me what i can do.

ive already changed my password, will microsoft refund my points?

thanks

rang them up and they have locked my account, said it could take up2 25 days but sometimes done in as little as 5 days. how come the thief didnt attempt to buy the whole stuff for sale on live? is it because i would have got a email saying ive purchased something? surely they would have just grabbed what they could? or maybe im yet to see the bill on my card

looks like the thief bought "premium silver pack" and "premium gold jumbo" with the points, its weird as im sure i had a funny odd number of points like 2237 and for all of them to be gone and for me to be left with zero, i also would have received a email saying i bought points, maybe i didnt have a odd number after all....

edit the ****** has bought 9 premium gold jumbo pack and a silver pack all adding up to 2220 points which is what i had. all done yesterday. well at least they never bought more points

Not sure what the premium gold jumbo pack is but I'd wager on it being FIFA 12 related. They seem to be the favourite bolt ons for the points thieves.

how do they actually do it, i remember receiving a message from my friend a while back, i cant remember what site it was but it was a achievement and stat logging site, friend messages me the site name then a forward slash then my gamertag. i checked it out on my phone and it seemed legit, put my password in and it brought up all my achievements and what not all my friends and wether they were online etc.

also had my phone nicked just over a month ago and i think i had a xbox app on that. but still my password would not have been revealed so how did they get in. im sure i didnt go onto the xbox internet site via my phone and even if i did the password would not have been saved

so basically you werent hacked, you just put all your details in some dodgy unofficial site and wonder why you now have no points.

zero sympathy.

the site is called playfire, it seems legit and some of my friends have profiles on there. i did this months ago too. so is this site dodgy like you say?

I don't know if they've done anything about it, but it can/could be done through an EA site which seems to have direct access to XBL account servers.

i think thats what has happened.

how are they getting your items? aren't purchases linked to that EXACT account only???

i found this article http://www.insidegamingdaily.com/2011/10/20/microsoft-responds-to-fifa-12-hacks/

here are some of the comments,

The people that are doing it sell the the points on a website called http://www.dhgate.com which is based in china and they sell your accounts to people, advertising them as 10000 ms point for less than £25. When people buy them they then send the buyers your login and password for them to recover on to their xbox. I only know this because I bought some points off the website (not knowing how that the point had been bought using other peoples credit cards) and a month or so later my xbox and account were banned because some frauds sold me some illegal points without letting me know how they got them, now I’ve have to go out and buy myself a new xbox and leave behind the massive amount of hours I have built up in playing time…

Same happened to me Hacked Jan 14th found it the 17th all my points gone and 2 Achievements on Fifa 12 which I don’t own. This is the second time in 3 plus years Ive been hacked.

thats what basically happened to me, i dont even own fifa 12

turd bag, stole my account with fifa 12 and stole 130 dollar in microsoft point, and overdraft fees, i cant believe this is happending jesus christ, someone who doesn’t give a ****, would really go through the trouble of not careing. Believe me when i say this, “dont delete your account without deleteing all your information on it first”. Really finding hard to contact microsoft about this little problem, now i need to go down to the bank and report electronics fraud activity, and try to get my money back, so we dont lose the house. please post more if anyone else, had this problem, and fixed it. at first thought it was a microsoft scam or sheme, just to find out some little fairy fat kid stealing my ****, and yes, i know how wrong that sounds, but true.

Damn , got hacked last night 17/1/12.

I dont even own fifa 12 , and i found 3 achievements on my tag! They used my paypal account which was saved on xbox and they stole 85 British pounds :( !

I hope Microsoft will help on that!!

Same here. Hacked on the 12th, lost 3200 points. Got my tag back, with a new live ID. Not my original one. Possibly, never be able to get that one attached again. Still no points. 2 FIFA12 achievements.
I blame EA for this though. XBL is trying to clean up the mess.
It’s like when your kid breaks **** and you have to fix it. EA is the bratty kid, XBL is the parent. EA needs a damn good spanking for this one.

Kind of ridiculous that this is even happening, although I guess I can take some comfort in the fact that I am not alone. My account was hacked last night by some jackass that had the audacity to go into party chat with my friends (who obviously knew it was not me). At this point I was called by one of my friends, and when I got home completely redid my password etc. Had to recover my account from another xbox, had 35 achievement points in fifa 2012 (never played it before and I never play sports games to begin with). Checked my billing, which thankfully does not have a credit card or paypal attached, and noticed the hacker spent my 1800 or so MS points on Fifa card packs. Called xbox, went through the phone line. The woman was very helpful, I put in for an investigation, and my account is suspended right now while they hopefully right these wrongs. I just hope I don’t have to wait a month to use xbox live again.

can i remove my card details from my account once its back up and running again

Happened to me too last weekend 42 quid on my credit card luckily though the transaction never went through being a weekend I cancelled my card straight away and come monday when MS tried to take the money it never went through they still took 2900 points that I had saved on my account though. Just waiting now though for them to sort the investigation and refund me my points won't be putting any cards on xbox any more.

Oh I also got 3 achievements on fifa 12 never even played the game must have been a thankyou for my points.

Similar thing happened to my brother. Someone got into his account and tried buying £50 worth of ms points. But the transaction was caught and halted before he even knew about it. He doesnt play fifa so we dont know how they got his login details.

I've deleted mycard off my account which I think is a good step for everyone these days!

so they basically buy a stolen account and play with a different gamer tag...

seems pointless to me, but then again I'm poor and know nothing:D

hey great news, xbox live investigation is complete, its only been a day!!!(guess its because my card didnt get taxed) got about 6 emails from them just now with codes galore!!!

they gave me a code for 1250points and a code for 1000points which adds up to 30 more than i had, they also gave me a 1month live code and in the first email they sent me(which i got the same time as all the other 5) they said while investigating it could take some time so heres a 1month live code.

everything redeemed now which mean im 30 points and 2months up!!! still tho i feel unsafe so will try to remove my card as i was very lucky that didnt get tapped into.

Same thing happened to me, Microsoft are fairly helpful though. Good customer service.

Silly question, is there anything I can do to stop this happening to me again?

Account was nicked, some points charged to my credit card (not an issue, it'll be refunded), all my FUT cards nicked and points spent, and I'm now without xbox live for a month.

If there's any suggestions as to how this happens and how I can prevent it in future they would be greatly appreciated. I wasn't phished, had a decent password, and had the account for years (on PC) - it's not till I got an xbox for Fifa with a mate that this has happened. Basially I noticed as I got an email saying a new email address had been added to my account, without that I wouldn't have had a clue. (All passwords changed, emails removed now etc etc).
