Hi guys did a 3090not so long ago, got a new 3080FE and doing it put back together and vram high and GPU shot up, used Gelid ultimate 2mm front and back.. now I’d say the sliver plate the GPU sits on now has a pattern type not plain smooth..also seem to think the new FEs need 1.5mm now any advice before I buy them..

Use 1.5mm ultimate gelid for 3080fe on die side for vram and VRM , not sure for backplate but 2mm should be fine

The early guides for 3080fe mostly used 2mm extreme gelid which are soft

Recently these don't work just giving high gpu temps reason being they don't compress enough for the die to make proper contact with heatsink

Supposedly reason being they aren't as soft anymore,
Thanks bit strange as didn’t have this issue with the 2mm for the 3090 I did same pads but gigabyte card.. will have to find some now which might be a pain as working in France atm
