Has the recent £2.99 increase for ad free content made you re-assess your subscriptions?

Are you bothered by ads? Do you find amazon to honestly hold value for money? Genuinely curious whether the "small matter" of £2.99 has made you look at Amazon, or indeed any of your other monthly outgoings and determine that you just don't need it? I think they kind of shot themselves in the foot with me because I don't like being nickel and dimed - I'd rather they just announce a price increase instead of trying to justify it, but the upshot of this was that I really only used my prime subscription for reacher and jack ryan and buy most of my content as physical media anyway. As for prime proper...Next day is great, but waiting a day or two isn't the end of the world.

Are ads a big deal? am I being tight fisted? Thoughts? Insights?

Just saying hello, making conversation. :)

Hate ads I will unsubscribe from Amazon next time round - its a great system for shopping but I can't ignore the damage its doing to small independent businesses, so ill choose to shop else where when possible.

As for ads - I'm already paying them, they already made prime 99 instead of 79, why should I pay more? No thanks, not on! They already had an extra 20 quid a year !

Why couldn't you have posted this in the huge **** off thread discussing Amazon Prime and the recent changes, rather than starting a new one? It's not hard to find, it's on Page 1 of the GD forum.

Essentially...That's the thing isn't it? they make it sound like it's nothing when they say £2.99 a month - but that's an extra £36 a year on top of the £95, and I actually kind of feel it's pretty tone deaf right now. Especially with it being Amazon.

The convenience is great if you want something in a rush, but how often is that really?
