Can't seem to find if there is much difference between these guys and Hastings Direct, I was wondering if anyone knows?

Renewal is due on the shopping trolley peugeot 807 at the end of this month and Axa have given me a renewal quote of £567! (up from £390)
I've done the usual Gocompare and had 7 quotes under £350 Hastings essentials say £277, and Hastings direct £292 (all FC and single payment)

Surely they are just different levels of cover with Hastings?

One will likely not have "extras" like windscreen cover or legal cover etc.

It'll be there in the comparison screen in all likelihood.

I've always found that by the the time you add sensible extras to make the Hastings Essential policy worth it, it's almost the same cost as Hastings Direct. Interestingly they do seem to run as different companies and have wildly different defaqto ratings with Direct being 5 star and Essentials only 2.

The crucial bit for me is that Essential doesn't include windscreen cover and has a £100 higher compulsory excess. For the sake of £15 I'd say moving up to direct is worth it just for the windscreen cover alone.

I did the quote on compare the market, rang hastings directly and they offered me the premium cover on both of my cars cheaper than the Essentials.

I found by the time I added what I wanted, Hastings' top policy - can't remember it's name - was the best deal for me. Also had the smallest excess too.
