is there a way to use the Haswell GPU in games or software whilst using an nVidia discrete GPU? Sort of like the way nVidia Optimus does it?

probably Virtu MVP if your MB supports it, but it's useless for games.

Optimus is something completely different - it's choosing the optimal GPU - iGPU for light tasks and saving of power on a battery and dedicated for heavy tasks.

GTX 780.
Yup, I was wondering if there was a way to use the integrated 4600 GPU for light tasks and the discrete GPU for gaming, etc? Seems like a waste if it's not doing anything.
Power draw might not be the issue here if he just wants to preserve his gpu, by using it less.
Another thing is that I think neither the 780, nor the 4600 would run HD movies idle and I'd think in such a case the 4600 uses less - e.g. it uses less power when under load than a 780 would . . .
