I've looked for an answer to this and there is a hell of a lot of contradictory information out there.

Are LGA 1155/6 socket Intel CPU coolers compatible with Haswell LGA 1150 socket mounts?

Or do they need an adapter? If so which CPU coolers have them because I've been to some well known CPU cooler manufacturers' web sites and LGA 1150 compatibility isn't mentioned anywhere that I can see.

There are even coolers like the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 13 are shown in some places as 1150 compatible and in others no mention of it.

Haswell CPUs are newish but you'd think that those CPU cooler manufacturers and retailers would have been busy over recent months making sure that potential buyers were provided with this information. Even at Overclockers where 1150 compatibility is shown on the main header listings, in the actual Description and Full Specs of some coolers 1150 socket support isn't shown.

Are you 100% sure? I question this only because I could not find any definitive confirmation of this in the searches I did earlier.

It is confusing when another PC component supplier, whose name I'm apparently not allowed to post here, actually say in their questions/answers section when asked about this specifically that the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 is not LGA 1150 compatible even though it is LGA 1155/6?

This is why I thought there might be an adapter kit required ie. different locking pins which these particular cpu coolers simply didn't provide.

Edit

Seems you are right so thanks. I had to go to Intel's own web site and search through their 'help' files before I found this definitive confirmation. I still think it should have been easier to find this info than it has been:-

The NOTE at the bottom confirms the CPU fan/heatsink mounting are the same spec across the three sockets.

Why the chap at the other place would say a particular CPU Cooler is not compatible when it should be is a bit of a mystery.

It lists it as 1150 compatible.

Yes, at the top in the main product details but if you scroll down to the Product Description or use the Full Specification tab LGA1150 support is not amongst those listed.

So if you don't know that they're all compatible you end up confused and, it would seem, that confusion extends to some retailers too.

Thanks all for the replies.
