Hi guys.

My parents old 1366 i7 dell is on its last legs and they have asked me to knock them up a new budget system.

The plan is to reuse a lot of the old components and im leaning towards a budget haswell build as all I will need is cpu, mobo and ram.

But the psu has thrown me, as on the ocuk site for the i5-4430 it says take a look at the haswell compatible psu's.

Do I need to get a new psu? Do haswell boards have different connections or something? The psu im using at the moment in the dell is a 650w ocz as the dell one died years ago.

Thanks in advance

But in all honesty I wouldn't worry. Haswell compatibility just means the PSU supports low power states when the CPU is idling. Just disable this in the BIOS and you'll be fine.
