Haswell RAM

My friend ordered a build with a 4690k.

He asked me to take a look and I noticed that he has a ram kit with 4 dimms and usually I stick to 2 as 1150 is dual channel, will he notice any performance problems running 4x4 rather than 2x8?

Four sticks is fine. I have 4x 4GB sticks and there is no difference in running between 4 and 2 sticks.

2X8GB gives you the possibility of upgrading to a higher capacity RAM without having to sell the ram. But 4x4Gb looks more epic.
