Hi guys just wondering, as I'm planning a new build at the moment for purchase in January..

Is it worth hanging on until the Haswell chips go into production next year?

I really dont HAVE to upgrade right now, and was going to go for an ivy i7 3770k, but don't want to regret that in a few months!

Any thoughts?

You have a nice setup and a decent cpu with the overclock.

If you want some extra performance get an i5 760 or i7 870 for £65 / £90 second hand.

I am running an i5 760 which i went to from an i3 540 and for gaming the change has been worth it.

As Haswell is coming out on a completely new socket i would wait. Both of you have decent rigs already. As already suggested, benj0145, you could pick up a cheap 750/760 and clock the nuts off it to get by in the meantime.

Ill second the used i7 8xx idea, they are actually faster in gaming/general use than the quad core i7 9xx series and the are plenty of people out there still perfectly happy with their overclocked i7 9xx's :)
