Hate to ask but.....Selfie Sticks

My wife and i are off to London next week and have decided we actually want some background to our photos compared my our usual tactic of my sticking my arm out and us only getting our heads in the frame!

As such we've decided to become those selfie ******* that everyone despises!

I've got an Iphone 8, so this rules out pretty much all of the wired ones as i can't be bothered carrying the adaptor round aswell.

Has anyone experience of the bluetooth ones? I looked on Amazon and there are hundreds which makes it hard to know which to choose.
 
Just ask someone else to take your photo.

Most people will be happy, and often you can return the favour.
 
That's what i always try and do but the wife is weird and doesn't like having her photo taken by other people.
 
Make about using a gun as a selfie stick, have your camera mounted to the end of the barrel, and then have the trigger and camera button synced together with a piece of string.

I can see no bad reason why you wouldn't do this.
 
Just get one if you want one, ignore the above. I ignored the lolselfiestick stigma when we took one with us on holiday and it worked out great. There's not always somebody around to take your picture (we went to Canada), sometimes other people take rubbish pictures, you can take as many as you like, and I like not giving my phone to strangers and then walking 10 meters away. Ours was a Bluetooth one for Android, from Argos of all places and worked fine.
 
I never got why you'd want to take a photo of yourself tbh. Surely the things you're seeing are what you want photos of? Not that thing stuck on your shoulders that's there every day

Exactly. Go to Niagra falls, I'll block the stunning photo with my ugly mug.

Hey why not zoom in, so you can't see niagra falls you just see yourself. lol So when you come home you show your relatives the zoomed in camera shot of yourself.
 
By that rational, why bother taking a picture at all? Why not just get one off the Internet that would be infinitely better composed using a better camera taken by a more professional photographer?

In fact why bother going on holiday at all, just look at Google Maps.

Why bother looking at anything, let's just be miserable and kill ourselves.

Man your photo albums must be a right barrel of laughs Here's some scenery and some scenery oh and some more scenery :D

The picture is there to evoke a memory, you and whoever else being in it is nice.
